I'm gonna be getting a powerbook. I might as well wait untill Pather will be getting shipped with new computers..anyone know/estimate when that will happen?

I'd say any machine manufactured will come preinstalled with Panther. But I really have no idea.

Watch that page. Mid-way down on the right it says they ship with Jag. When that changes to Panther, go for it. I'm betting about the same time the Panther retail boxes ship, you'd be good to go.

If history tells us anything, machines manufactured before 10/24 and shipped from Apple after 10/24 will have Jag installed, but include Panther CDs in the box.

Apple will need some time to prep new master disk images for their entire product line. Give them one to two weeks, then you'll see machines ship with Panther installed.

You will be able to buy Macs with Panther preinstalled on them at the Apple Store on the 24th.

At least that's what happened with Jag...I bought my parent's eMac at the local Apple Store at the release party for Jag...they gave 10% off all CPUs and they had Jag preinstalled.
