Has anybody tested this yet? Does it work?

Yep, no problems here, isync and missing Sync for Sony CLIE works too.

installation is a bit awkward (installer problems) but I got it to work in the end.

How did you get the installer to work?

In my case, deleting the old Palm folder in Applications, then rerunning the installer worked.

In my case, nothing worked. I am running 10.2.8 on a G4/1GHz iMac.

I sent Palm tech support and email, and here's the response:

"Thank you very much for your inquiry. I understand that you are unable to install the Palm(TM) Desktop software v4.1 on Mac OS X as you receive an error message stating "Installation did not complete successfully.
Do you wish to attempt to reinstall the software or to quit?".

"Please note that we are aware of this issue. We have received this issue from many of our customers installing the Palm Desktop
software v4.1 on Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher. Our Engineers at Palm, Inc., are working on this issue to develop a software patch to resolve the issue. They will resolve this issue in all the future versions of Palm Desktop software. However, we are not in a position to comment on future releases of Palm, Inc.

"I have forwarded your comments to the appropriate department for review. Please feel free to continue sharing your comments or concerns with us in the future."

If anyone has developed a workaround, I'd like to know what it is...many thanks.
Cheers,
Steve

I used the old Palm desktop installer and it worked fine. The new one is bad news.

There is an issue where if you have more than one user logged in and set up to use hotsync, then the software will pick one at random.
