... because it still sometimes doesn't wake up from sleep. It ran flawlessly until I did the 10.2.6 -> .8 -> .6 -> new .8 upgrade adventure.
Will possibly have to wait for Panther...

I still have problems with the computer losing the connection to the airport and my IP changing back to 10.0.0.1 or whatever.
I am hoping panther will fix this.

I'm staying with 10.2.6 , there's been too much bad stuff happening with 10.2.8...and what new stuff does it have anyway?

Well I have noticed three things since updating my dual 1 ghz g4 tower to 10.2.8 (6R73.
the first is it seems to have made my system more stable now (i was starting on a downward spiral before) second, it has not stopped my mysterious mouse jumping problem.(It just teleports to another random part of the screen) And third, Every time i wake it from sleep, the computer beeps like 7 times.

6R73 on two machines (Powermac 933 & Powerbook 400) no problems as yet. Not that I had any in 10.2.6...

My G4 466 won't deep sleep anymore since 10.2.8
I hope it's fixed in 10.3

I was kind of puzzled that over at [some site] there were people who actually downloaded and installed a leaked beta of 10.2.8. I guess it was modem-users wanting to be on the sort-of cutting edge

There are simply way too many people that are willing to put beta on their systems without considering the consequences... on occasion, I'm one of them.

Is it worth upgrading to 10.2.8 then? I have panther on order, so should I bother to do the update this week, and then again next week?

10.2.8 runs great on my machine now that the defective ram, it was an Apple chip, has been replaced.
Best I can figure out 10.2.8 stresses out the hardware more then the previous systems.
