After using different adobe and macromedia products I noticed that all of the windows snap to other windows or will snap to the edge of the screen. What I am wondering is if it is possible to make all windows in OS X do this? Maybe some sort of program or tweak? If you know how to do this please let me know.

Thanks Chris

The program needs to support it. It's not difficult to do, but Apple leaves it up to them to make it happen.

So then there is no third party application that can do this?

Not that I know of. It's not hard to do, but I still don't know why most app developers leave this part out.

It is easy for carbon applications, but very difficult for cocoa ones.

Fire does it; I'd just look at their source to get the gist of how they did it.

How so? I would've though it would be the other way round! Unless it's got something to do with the ability to write custom windows in carbon instead of using a NIB file.

I like the snap-to-edge windows too, but they can be infuriating at times. We would need a modifier key to turn it off when required.
