Does anyone know if it's possible (and how) to replace the current Samba installation in Jaguar with Samba 3.0?

I could have swarn that Panther was going to ship with Samba 3.0. But, after just looking around at Apple's Panther page I can't find any mention of it.

Anybody else confirm/deny it?

samba 3 is shipped with panther server. didn't see mention of samba 3 specifically on the client pages. maybe it is an older version, or do not want to concern the average mac-user with lots of version numbers. it seems odd if it were the former, since all the development has been done for server.

It's in 10.3. I'm sure of that.

But I was hoping to run it on 10.2, because I've had great success with that on my Beige G3.
