Hi peepz,
I have never worked with multiple accounts before so I am a newbie concerning this.
As soon as I have created a new user (besides me = Admin) I can switch between those two. Okay so far. But:
Imagine my User A has a blank system which I want because he shouldn't have any trouble. I config his dock etc so he can surf and use Word - that's it.
Now, all his folders are restricted to HIM, not even I as an Admin can see the contents. Which I find strange. Let's make a simple task:
I make a screenshot under his account. The Pic1 appears on his desktop. I wanna switch to my Admin account to send this picture via iChat to someone.
I can't cause I can't even see the contents of his (restricted) desktop folder.
In which way should I set the user rights so that he can WORK on his account ONLY but I can see his account, too? Else I can't really help out and (at last) administer his account...
thanx for your patience,

Add your user name to the privileges of the folder you want access to when you are logged into his account.
Use the Get Info command in the Finder to change permissions on the folder.

Thanx Steve, but sorry, I don't get it. Get Info in the Finder is n problem but can you exactly (maybe by a screenshot) show me how to set it? I tried GROUP etc, nothing worked...
The folder I want to change is the complete user folder of that user.

How about you drop the file in your admin public folder. Or the 'shared ' account?
That is... if modding the permissions isn't absolutely needed for other admin tasks you need.

if you just need to transfer the occasional file, the the public shared folder that each user has in their home directory is the easiest solution.
if you really need to do more than that and have need to view all the contents of other users then there are a few ways to do this:
- play around with the permissions (not my first choice as it's easy to make a mess if you are not too sure....)
- use the "root" account, which you need to enable in the NetInfo Manager utility - this account can see all users, all hidden folders etc by default...use with caution of course.
- get a util like psuedo and re-launch the finder in root/super-user mode.
