Is there any difference in a copy of Panther that I would purchase in Europe (in Paris) as opposed to an American copy? I don't want to be stuck with a version of the OS that is made specifically for a French system. Thanks.

Nope - there is only one version - it contains all localisations.

The only difference is in the packaging and the printed introductory manual.
