This isn't a big deal, but it's starting to piss me off. When I want to rename a file so that it finds its proper helper app, rather then going to Open With other... and finding the app manually, the Finder always asks me if I'm sure I want to do that. And since the default button is to cancel the change, I can't even just press Return to get past it. It's not a huge productivity issue, but I'm wondering if there's any way I can get Finder to just accept the change without verifying that I really want to do it.

Finder -> Finder Menu -> Preferences -> Advanced -> Show all file extensions

Now it won't ask when you change them.

Hey! I have a hint for you! Even if you are hiding the file extentions and the annoying dialog pops up and you want to get rid of it fast... HIT THE ESC KEY! If the default is on (Cancel), then Esc will activate the (Okay) button.

I have tried this and it works... This is one of those things that Apple never tells you about. Sheesh... I wish they're help system was a little more in depth with little things.
