I have an iMac (15"FP) running OSX 10.2.8.

It gets it's AC power via an APC UPS. My cable modem is also on the APC UPS.

In between the cable modem and the Mac is a Linksys router, sharing the Ethernet connection from the cable modem to my iMac and a nearby Powerbook G3 (Wallstreet).

We had a power glitch tonight for a couple of seconds. I could hear the UPS take over. The iMac never flickered.

I was running Safari, etc.

When I went to access yahoo after the glitch, safari said "couldn't find server". Email was dead.

The modem was fine, the router rebooted and the Powerbook could communicate fine with the net.

I guess the iMac/OSX combo can't figure out how to get a new IP address from the router when it reboots.

I have to restart my iMac to get reconnected. If there is some kind of command line instruction I could issue, I would love to know.

Thanks
