That’s a great post.

I never knew why apple didn't make connections and reconnections faster in the first place???

Playing online games was horrific, if you connection dropped your out, as you only have 50 secs or so to connect back. Aqua takes ages....

In my opinion, probably the best thing they did ever!!!

Indeed.

(I didn't bother redoing it in Panther style though, even I have my limits)

Brushed metal is even slower.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

Actually, I think that absolute measures of resources devoted to aqua effects, dock bouncing and itunes didnt change much, its that CPU, memory and other computational resources increased so much, that relative usage fell.. compare original iMac and dual G5 in terms of computational power..

The only thing that has changes is it would now be a brushed metal app. <just kidding>

I'm running Panther on a G3 iMac, and all of those things DO use less CPU power.

Unless, of course, my 400MHz G3 suddenly magically increased its computational power.

What is the deal with Apple Web-page leaks recently? First the G5 and now the iPod peripherals? Nice.
