Here is my dilemma. I have an iBook with a combo drive and a Pismo with a DVD drive. I want to back up all of my files on my Pismo (mostly mp3s) using the burner on the iBook. I have the two computers connected using IP over FireWire and that works ok, but I was not thrilled to learn that iTunes only lets you burn multi-CD playlists as Audio CDs but won't let you burn a whole lot MP3 CDs from one giant playlist just by pressing burn once and feeding it CDs.

So what I want to know is, is there a way that I can set up the iBook to burn a large folder and have it automatically spread it out over multiple CDs?

I thought that function was added in iTunes 4.1? Burning large playlists across multiple CDs and DVDs?

Have you changed your burning preferences to "mp3 CD" in the iTunes preferences?

Yes I did. If I do that it only lets me burn one mp3 cd with the beginning of the playlist and that's it, or at least that's what it tells me its going to do, but I haven't tried to actually do it.

Check out the 3rd bullet:

"Burn large playlists to multiple CDs or DVDs; when your playlist is too large to fit on one CD or DVD, iTunes asks you to insert another disc"

That only works for audio CDs, not mp3 CDs. I just discovered that.
