hi, i am hoping someone can help me with an issue that i had this morning with my dual 1.42, with OS X 10.2.8. I had left the computer on overnight and when i woke up to check my email, the maill.app just kept crashing constantly. So i rebooted and upon reboot the OS defaulted back to original settings. All size settings (desktop/dock/window size) were defaulted, even the dock icons were reverted back to after a fresh install. The computer seems ok now, but i am just curious what could possibly cause something like this, any help would be great.
It's not a tumor!

Sounds like the permissions on the files in your home library are wrong.

Open the terminal and at the prompt type,

sudo chown -R USERNAME /Users/USERNAME

Then hit return. Replace USERNAME with the name of your home folder.

Log out and then back in.
