I have an ezquest 120 gb external HD and when I set it as my scratch disk to capture video from my DV camera, Premiere freezes and I have to force quit to get anywhere else with the program. Premiere captures to the main HD no problem, but when I capture to the external HD it freezes. I have it plugged into the mac firewire and not the pci firewire. Any solutions.

A few questions: What OS? Can you copy large items to this drive from the finder? (1-2GB Files)

Create a new admin user and log in as that user. Any difference? Did you install the Mac Capture Update for Premiere off the Adobe web site? What version of QT?
