I spoke to the Apple Store today (whilst ordering this Panther thing ) and they said that the copies will leave their european warehouse on the 24th.

So how can Apple.com say "order now for delivery on the 24th? Although I'm probably being thick!

Look here: http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore/
"I'm Captain Chaos! Been in the force long...?"

The guy I spoke to said it would be *delivered* on the 24th. Maybe they'll be overnighted?

Anyone with any experience with this?

10.0 they changed everyones order status to Saturday Delivery so regardless of your shipping option - it was a very pleasant surprised. 10.2 I bought at my university bookstore the day of launch but I think they made sure people had their copy on the day of launch.

Yep, my 10.2 actually turned up a day before the official release date. They obviously wanted to make an effort to make sure that those who pre-ordered it got it on time.

Hopefully they'll do the same for Panther.

It just seems like Panther is shipping early cause so many people have downloaded it. I'm sure they're all ADC, though.

My credit card still isn't charged yet. I have heard that some people had their's charged already.

But my order status said "PM Delivery on the 24th".

Yup, same here. I chose Express Shipping, even thought it probably won't make a difference, but it's only 10 dollars canadian, and its a business expense Anything to make sure that I get it on Friday night.

Last year, I seem to recall a few people discovering Jaguar upgrade disks in their new Macs a couple days before Jag was officially released. Could be wrong, but that's my recollection. Don't know if that will be the case this time around....

Just checked my status. It hasn't shipped yet
I ordered at 12:01PST on the 8th and selected overnight shipping. It still says delivery on or before the 24th. I really hope it's here when I get home on Friday.

I'm going for the Edu pricing, so the extra day isn't going to kill me to save $60...

But it better be there on Saturday or someone will die...

If they are going to hype these OS upgrades, then they should also deliver.

My order is still open, with a ship "on or before 10/24" message.

I've got the same message you do PBG4...I'm hoping it arrives on the 24th...I'm still a little p!ssed that the apple retail store won't do the 20 upgrade for new g5 owners, but I'll get past it...
