Hello everyone. I need my powerbook today. This morning I thought I would go ahead and install the 10.2.8 update since I had the time. After the computer rebooted, it just comes up with that classic folder with the face flashing a question mark, like there is nothing to boot from. What happened to my powerbook????? Please help!!!!! I really need it today.

Do you have a 10.2 install CD? You can boot from the CD by inserting the disk, then holding down the "c" key, while you restart. You should be able to run disk utility from the CD. With luck, that will sort out what ever problem you're having. (sounds directory-related to me)

If you can gain access to a DiskWarrior CD, that would be even better.

Boot fromt he CD and go to startupdisk and make sure that "Network" isn't chosen as the Startupdisk.
