Panther: network computers in sidebar?

Do connected computers show up in the top part of the Finder sidebar with other drives? Can you put them there?

When you connect via command-k, they do, assuming you have that set in the Finder preferences.

When you connect through the "Network" icon, they do not. Seems inconsistent to me.
