You can upgrade, worked fine on my Al15', I'm having no problems. But If you have the time to do a clean install, zero-ing your harddrive, you may find it just that much "snappier"

FIRST thing I would verify is whether 1.5 gigs is enough (I doubt it though).

I am going for an "Archive and Install" since this will be first OS upgrade on this machine (G5)

Important notice about available disc space:

"In order to run Mac OS X, you’ll need at least 128MB of physical RAM, and at least 3.0GB of available space on your hard disk for the installation."

This taken directly from Apple-see point #6:

This has already been asked a lot of times before... there's always the search option. But anyways... I'll answer this once again... two words... Clean Install.

First best way is to sniff my scrotum.

Second best way is to read the 400 other topics on this.

Here's what I want to know. When you've read 400 "How do I install Panther threads" before, why do you click the link to read this one? And beyond that, why take the time to post an angry, shitty reply with that "Oh, he's really mad now!" red angry "smiley" face? Why not just curse at the screen, and move on to something else? Wow.

Just ignore it. Pay it no mind. Someone else will answer nicely, or the guy will get no response and dig a little deeper. (Or the mods will waste their time to lock the thread.)
