I go through fsck -y. Says my computer appears OK. I type reboot.

I then get following (excerpts)
syncing disks.....killing all processes...shutting down...deactivating bootstrap...done.

Continuing
Done.
MACH Reboot.

That is as far as I get. Nothing else happens. End up holding down the powerbutton to shut down and then hit powerbutton to start.

I will be upgrading to Panther Friday. This will probably be fixed with that I would presume?

Ideas?

10.2.8

Read another thread on this yesterday. I've a 12"PB too and many others are having the same issue. As reported, nothing seems to work to correct it and Apple, according to one poster, recognizes the problem. Hope it's not carried over to Panther.

Thanks gtuck. Started with 10.2.8. My iMac 400 DVSE is not affected.

Do you remember where you saw the thread? I ran a search here last night and didn't find anything.

Looks like their was an article on MacFixit on 10-9-03. PB g4s affected after 10.2.8.

Anyone have a subscription to macfixit that could get to that article?

For any interested 12" PB owners. This appears to be a problem since updating to 10.2.8.
