How much disk space do I need for "archive & install" can I then delete previous syst

My disk is 75% full. Can I "archive and install"
and how much disk space will I lose?
Should I delete the previous system folder after a few days?

I think 10.2 recommended around 4 gigs of free space in order to do an archive and install, although you could probably get away with a lot less. I don't know about 10.3.

Sure, that is, if you have everything copied back over to your new System folder that you wanted off of the previous one...

Best to leave your previous system around for a while, if you can afford the space. You never know when you'll discover something you've not realised was missing.

I only discovered all my missing fonts a few weeks ago, and the last time I did an upgrade was almost a year ago. Was glad to find them in the previous system still.
