So I get up this morning, jump on the computer....and my keyboard sound controls won't work. Or, more specifically, the "up" and "down" keys don't work...the Mute does its job quite well.

When I press them, the transparent window pops up with the sound bar showing the sound going up or down, but nothing actually happens.

I'm confused. This is actually getting a little annoying...suddenly, in the past week, I'm getting a lot of problems with OS X. Safari suddenly has a cache problem - every other page has to be refresed before I can see new information, despite my resetting everything I can think of. Same with .avi movies...of course they never played perfectly in the browser window, but now all of a sudden if I close said window Safari crashes.

I've been getting another odd Sound problem for some time...specifically, the sound Balance bar keeps moving to the right. I swear, I'll it in the middle, and a couple days later I'll notice one speaker is a little louder. Sure enough, it'll be moved back to the right a little.

I'm the only user on my computer, too, so it'll really starting to piss me off.

Anyone have an advice for the sound keys?

I've been having similar problems since upgrading to Panther. Either the keyboard controls don't work or else they only work for one speaker. If you go to the sound control panel it says that no controls are available. If you unplug the speakers and plug them in again, the balance controls come back but the balance is off. Reset the balance and everything is fine for a while.Wierd.Anyone else having these problems?
