I plan on doing a clean install of Panther tonight, I was wondering if this would be a crafty way of getting various bits of information back up and running:

Under 10.2 backup bookmarks, addresses, playlists, mailboxes, preferences etc using Apple's Backup 2.

Under 10.3 restore the above items, bingo bongo, your address book, bookmarks, mailboxes etc are all back the way they were.

Or not bingo bongo, 10.3 gets very confused about addresses and perhaps more worryingly mail.
