Since upgrading to 10.3 I have been unable to launch Safari. Whenever I try to launch it I get an error message saying the application has unexpectedly quit. I have tried deleting Safari and all its preference folders and then reinstalled Panther but the problem persists. Have tried running First Aid and fixing permissions. Have also set up a new user and the problem exists across users. Anyone know what the problem is and how I can fix it? Crash report below.

Do you have any third party ram? Have you run the hardware diags on the box? Was this a clean install or an upgrade? Are there any other apps affected?? A kernel panic from just an app opening sounds like something fishy is going on at the hardware level...
Not trying to pummel you with questions, just getting the basics out of the way...

I should also add Safari was working fine until I did the upgrade.

wow. do you have an external drive to do another install on to see if it's the hardware? I hate saying "wipe the drive and start from scratch" and then have the problem still persist...
I found this on the apple help board...
Okay, last week I tried choosing Safari -> Reset Safari... and so far there have been no more system freezes. Maybe this option purged some corrupt settings and/or cache. Anyhow, so far, so good. I'll reply to this post if any more system freezes occur while Safari is running.
At least worth a shot...

Hard to choose a menu option in an application that crashes when you try to start it.

The crash log looks like Safari trying to load a SIMBL plugin when it crashes. Most likely the problem is with PithHelmet of SAFT (full screen Safari). These should be removed as they are most likely no longer compatible with the latest version of Safari.

On my office iMac (500mhz) Safari will not start up and I get an error message about sending a report to Apple, which I did. I'll have to try the fix on Monday!
On my Cube at home Safari has trouble rendering pages including Apple's. It looks like it has problems with pages dependent on use of complicated tables.
Anyone else having issues???
-Steve
*** Update - Figured out my problem with safari on my cube.
Safari Preferences > Advanced>Style Sheet: Changed to None Selected. I had originally had html4.css selected - why? I don't know. As soon as I switched it to None Selected things started looking right ***

Tragic it is that the reset solution hasn't fixed the problem for me.

Try trashing all safari files:
In Preferences Pane
In Themes
In Caches
In Library
In Applications
Then reistall Safari 1.1 from Apples site
