So installed X.3 and I'm happy with it. Except for...

When I go into the "Sharing" preference pane, and click on "Firewall", Im greeted with a message saying that I'm currently running a third-party firewall, and that in order to access the Mac OS X firewall, I have to disable the third-party firewall. (not word for word stated like that, but you get the idea...)

Here's the deal... I don't have any third-party firewalls running. Brickhouse, etc.... NADA!!! I did an install over 10.2.8. This has never been an issue before.


Any ideas?

Do you have Virtual PC installed? It also puts in custom firewall rules (well, they are actually NAT stuff not filtering, but they go in the same place)

I do not have VPC install (G5) but get the same message.

This will take care of it...

'sudo ipfw -f flush'

You'll then be able to get into the Firewall tab and you'll have to re-configure...
