I received my Panther package from FedEX a little while ago. After making sure I was all backed up, I started the installation. Everything went find until it asked for disk 2. The computer kept spitting it back out. Finally I looked closely at the disk and realized I have a Mas OS X SERVER disk 2 and not the client disk 2. Now my iMac is half upgraded, and I'm not sure what I should do. Any ideas?

Your best bet would be to call Apple and see if they will exchange it for you, which I'm sure they will.

How can I use my computer in the meantime? I'm sitting at the screen asking for disk 2.

what kind of install were you in the middle of...archive, upgrade, or did you re-format and start fresh?

Big oops on somebody. You are #!@#$ IMHO. I had a similar problem when my CDR of a Panther beta was bad, as I didn't take time to verify it, so it never finished install.
But it may also depend on the type of install that you do. I did it on an Archive and Install only.

You shoudl have the option to skip it. All you'll lose are some apps like iTunes and stuff. The OS is already installed if you're past disc 1.

Yeah, there is a cancel button. What all is on disk 2? What about disk 3? Would I have gotten to that eventually?
