In the third or fourth screen when installing from the first CD there is a button that is marked Customized. By clicking on that, you are presented with a list of default and optional additional installs. This is where you would select to install X11. You can also opt to not install some of the printer driver sets and some localization files.

If you have selcted to install X11, the install process request the third CD after Disc 2 is complete.

Didn't you place it in the CD-ROM!!!!

It has the debug removal program, iWalk demo, the X86 version of Mac OS X and a the version of iChat that can connect to Yahoo and MSN.

Oh man, X11 is a customized install? I was hoping that it would be part and parcel of the system install. I wanted to rely on it being there for software deployment. So they just threw the X11 package on the CD. Big wu.

They want to protect ordinary users from the horrible world of X11. X11-apps are the worst nightmare for any UI-designer, they are inconsistent and ugly looking.

Those who have to use it will know how to install it.

They didn't just "throw" it on the CD. You can click "Customize" during the install and just check the box for X11 and it will install w/ the rest of 10.3. Or, you can go onto disc 3 and just double click the .pkg. It works both ways.
