Is there a change on this in Panther? since they no longer have the option of you choosing which program you would like to auto start up when the OS is loaded. Or am I just some how missing it?

It's moved. It's in the Accounts pane. It's one of the buttons at the top. From there you can select any app (or server share or whatever) to start up at log-in.
