I just installed Panther and lo and behold CPU Monitor is missing.
Is this the case for everyone else? Are there any freeware/shareware apps that are similar?
Thanks!

Try Utilities-->Activity Monitor

I'm more than a little charginned that it looks an awfull lot like the windows counterpart.

I like PTHCPUMonitor. It puts a cpu indicator in the menu bar and allows you to choose the display (http://www.pth.com/PTHCPUMonitor/).

Actually, it looks more like graphical TOP with disk and network usage thrown in.

Think of it as a combined Process Viewer and CPU Monitor.

I like it--since I always had those two running anyway.

How do you change the color of the floating CPU display? I prefer dark red to this lime green....

I like that. Used to use the same thing on NT and Windows 2K.
