anyone has their menubar icons of volume control and date & time not showing up on the top right corner of their Finder in Panther?

i've encountered this issue in a few clean-installs of Panther. looking at the crash logs it seems that SystemUIServer is crashing. that means i can't take screenshots as well

Mine showed hung earlier in activity monitor. I force quit it, watched all the menu bar items disappear, then reappear.

Not sure what caused it. I had just force quit Finder shortly before, due to it not stopping when I hit stop to archive a folder.

Whats the crash log say?

I imagine you may have installed something that wasusing a restricted namespace. - which is now being used by a system menu item in Panther. no third party menu extra should work, and when they do work it is because of hackery.

found what could possibly be the prob while browsing thru Apple's 10.3 support forums...

seems that SystemUIserver will start crashing on a loop when a certain locale is chosen in the Date & Time with 10.3.0
