this has been asked *several* times already. the same disks will work on both computers....but.....you will be in violation of the license agreement.

I apologize for clogging the threads. I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question though. I am currently waiting on my 2nd copy so as not to infrige on any license agreements. Cheers!

Why not just pay the extra $70 and do it legal...

Why...
I paid $3,800 for my G5, $3,500 for my G4, $2,500 for my PB 12 G4, $3,000 for my Pismo... + several thousands on 2 17" and 1 23" Cinemal display... all running Seti today. For this kind of cash within the past 3 years, Apple should give me a price break on the OS.

You spent all that yet you're complaining about paying $199 for 5 licenses of OS X?

once again, this has been covered already. what you want to buy is the "family pack" - you can install on 5 computers in your household for $199...that is a significant break on the price of buying all the copies single license.

I know it's not what the Licence says, but I think if both machines are yours then go ahead and use the same copy. I think the family pack of 5 should apply where 5 family members each have a computer
I say the licence should be per person, not per machine. I would have no problems installing one copy on my laptop & desktop. There is notthing in Panther that will stop you doing so - it doesn't have a CD Key or anything Micro$oft like to distiguish between one copy and another
Of course, because I say this is how I think it should be, it doesn't make it legally so

It is totally legal to install it on both of your own computers. If you are going to install it on an other mac not used by you you have to buy multiple versions although Apple doesn't make you buy a second version in any way.

wrong! try actually reading the license agreement, specifically section 2 paragraph A - it very clearly states that the license is *per computer* and not per user.
