Once you create an additional user account in Panther, is it possible to delete it? I set one up just to check out the fast user switching options, etc. I do not need it, but cannot figure out how to get rid of it.

Anybody know whether it is possible?

Thanks

I think you go to system prefs and click on user accounts. Click on the account you wish to delete and in the bottom left corner there is a plus and minus sign. Click on the minus and it should be gone.

I've tried that, but the minus sign is greyed-out. That's what has me stumped. Does anybody have any other suggestions, or am I basically stuck with an additional user account that I will never use?

Make sure you're authenticated as an administrator... the lock at the bottom of the panel might not be unlocked.

Also make sure you aren't logged in as that user or that user's login session isn't still active.

I am the authenticated user and have locked and unlocked that lock on the bottom of the panel numerous times trying figure out how to delete that account.

I did discover that if you hit the plus button and then highlight the new account BEFORE you edit it, you have the option of clicking on the minus button and deleting it. But as of right now, it appears that once a new account has been established and edited, you can't get rid of it.

That was it! I restarted my computer and it logged off the additional account I created. After the restart I was able to delete the account.

Thanks
