I had this EXACT problem. I booted into 9 to make sure it worked, and it did. When I booted back into X it worked again. Now i did plenty of reboots that didnt help before that, so I'm confused as to what happened,

do you use CopyPaste-X? I saw in the other forum a fellow was having a problem with his letters, too.. it was from that program.

Which 3rd party programs/drivers/haxies have you installed?

Answered my own question. Synergy was the culprit. It's a shame, too, since I really liked that program. Oh, well. Once I turned it off, my "a" key came back. Weird.

Thanks for your responses.

Do you use Synergy (the iTunes remote)?
I saw someone mention that Synergy had killed his letter 'a'...

Yep. Synergy killed my 'A' key too. I uninstalled it until they can get an update out.

I had the same problem. I downloaded the newest version and reloaded and (as you can see) am able to type lowercase a's now.
