I installed panther last night, and being the nerd that I am, I of course didn't glance at the manual until after it was done. In the Installation and Setup Guide that came with my copy of panther, there is a screen cap from the setup options screen with some explanations of what everything does. I'm assuming this was taken and the book was printed before 7B85, because it refers to the "Stup Assistant."
Having already installed panther, I didn't notice this in the software, did anyone notice this in the software?
Here's a picture of what I'm talking about :

No. There is a Stup assistant after installing. You mean yours didn't launch. I think you need to zero all dat and reinstall starting from the beta onwards.
I know, it sucks. But what can you do. Trust me, it's worth it.

I looked at the printed documentation before installing Panther. "Stup Assistant" jumped right out. I'm a technical writer and I can't help but notice such things. Apple needs to add another level of copyediting.

Whatever you do, don't read a Toyota service manual. Two or three pages in, you'll have a stroke.
Apple is usually quite good at proofing but this one is pure carelessness.

It's pretty clear Apple used pre 7B85 screenshots in the book, as many shots show the old Internet Connect icon in the menubar, and not the new one.
