Panther is on the way (ADC shipment left 23rd). I'm going through and finding things to back up, but I'm sure I'm going to miss something. What is the best way to be sure to be thorough?

So far, I figure on:

~/Documents
~/Library
~/Music
~/Pictures
~/Movies
/Applications/Quicken/Quicken Data

I really don't use much on this computer. Apple's applications, plus Quicken. I have some miscellaneous programs installed, but I can reinstall almost all of them.

I want to be sure that I get iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, Mail and Safari's data and settings. Do I have all that with what I'm backing up already?

Looks like the main stuff. I am debating whether or not to do a clean install on my G5. I am tired of re-installing apps.

Copy your home folder and folders such as root library that may have 3rd party app stuff stashed away.

I backed up my entire computer but did a simple upgrade. Everything is working beautifully.

I went through my prefs folder and threw away things I knew I didn't have on my computer anymore. Through away apps I tried but never used. (Backed up first.)

Did a verify permissions and an fsck. Then upgraded.

Good luck. Panther is very nice. After using it for a few hours I would say mail is the thing I like best. The overall refinement of the OS is probably second.
