I did a clean install of panther. I am now reinstalling my apps PS,ILL, AE.

When i try to install PS 7.0 Panther tries to launch classic, to do the install. It has never done this. Is there a work around. I don't have Classic on my PB. And really don't want to install it. When I see the icon in the finder it look pixelated like it is a OS 9 icon in OS X but this has never happened. When you go to install PS it gives you a warning no classic envioment detected but that is it, it always installs. But with panther it needs classic. I dont get it.

Any help would be great.

Thanks for the time.

Select app. Then get info on it. Then uncheck open in Classic.

You're welcome!

I don't know if my question is related, but after installing Panther (clean install) on my Cube. When I tried to open Classic, I kept receiving an error message that it had either not been installed or couldn't be found, or something like that.

My questions are these: does Classic get installed with the Panther installation? If so, how do you get it to "work"?

If not, how do you get Classic (or OS 9) installed? Should I have done a clean install of OS 9 and then chosen the upgrade option to install Panther?

Obviously, I am still a little confused with exactly how Classic works, but I need it because I have several applications that run only in Classic.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
