Hello,

Has anyone else had a problem getting a driver for their Cd burner to work on OSX ?

I cant get disc copy to work either, it just freezes up and I have to force quit it.

I have searched on versiontracker and the links for the drivers are not working.

What are trying to do, get me to buy a new cd burner .

QPS hasn't updated the driver for that model in ages. Unless you're dead broke, it would be less agravating to just break down and buy a newer, much faster firewire CD writer.

But not from QPS.

My QPS 8x4x32 samsung drive's having problems in Panther even though it says it's supported.

...might be time for a new drive for me as well.

Those old QPS drives have had problems with OS X since the beginning.... So slow and annoying... I finally dumped the drive and traded it in for a firewire drive... My of 4x4x8 rarely burned safely above 2x... burning on the firewire drive at 32x is pure joy by comparison. Anyway stop the pain and frustration. Dump the drive!

If you have a powermac, buy a new internal combo drive (DVD/CDRW). They're cheap, under $100.

It works perfect in Panther just nothing beyond 2x, or else it doesn't burn completely. I am using the drivers intended for 10.2. If you need those drivers just visit http://www.qps-inc.com/downloads/drivers/QusbOSX2.sit for it.

It should work with iTunes, Disc Copy, and Toast 6 (I haven't tested 5)
