all of a sudden i cant start her up (os 10.2.x powerbook). it gets past the whole startup sequence (albeit slowly) and then right before you would think the log in box pops up...it gets stuck in a loop where the screen flicks a bit then sits then repeats. im without any startup/utility discs so...im stuck. i have a pc with a cd burner and internet, to try and download a disc utility...but the files are compressed/smil/hqx and os9 cant make sense of them. sheesh. any help anyone? i just moved so i dont have any disc tools with me. is there a startup key combo in osx for "extensions off" or something? somekind of magic spell? somethin somethin? osx has always been so stable...so good to me...such a rock in an otherwise tumultuous traumatic world. thanks in advance for all relevant, helpful, or plain silly responses.
