How do you tell the difference between 10.3 final and the version with debug code on

I've seen that there are two different builds of 7B85, apparently the version some people had on carracho and hotline had some debug code enabled (there were two different file sizes, I think the one that was like 446MB had debug code).
So anyway if you have 7B85 installed how can you tell if it's got debug code on? And, I guess more importantly, can you turn it off, or do I need to download a newer build??
thnks

The build in the black box with a brushed aluminum X on the front is probably the one you are looking for. It definitly comes with the "debug code" off, and is contained on 4 cds. Feel free to find it on sites like apple.com/store or amazon.com, or visit the great outdoors for a bit and find a local computer store that sells Apple products.

What you're looking for is 7B85a, which has the debug code removed. You'll need to redownload it from bit torrent...

Well, I do have two sets of CD's with 7B85 on, both from AppleSeed.
No 1 was seeded 3-4 weeks before Panther was announced, and No 2 was send on friday 24. I could do a check, and see if they are identical....!
So, his question IS valid... but it is the same build number, though.
That even makes some sence, since you can have a gazillion build TARGETS with every build NUMBER....

Check with John Manzione at MacNET. He usually gets the version without the debug code which is much faster and blows the doors off of the retail version.

Um, no. There is ONE and only ONE 7B85. Simple as that.
(I don't care if he's joking, or if anyone else in this thread is joking: there are still people who believe this.)

Yes, but fact is, the Panther CDs I bought at the Apple Store are a completely different size than the 7B85 that was online weeks ago. They're considerably smaller. Why would that be?

Versions without debug code are being sold in a Black Box with a bix "X" on it. All other versions have about 81.5 MB of debug code and are not snappy.
|
Stink different.

Rubbish. 7B85 is 7B85, regardless of presence of debug funcionality.

Do I really have to add a to every not-so-serious post? I thought alone the fact that I'm posting in this thread should indicate that.

Stink different.
