As many have noted here and on other forums, Panther's support for Windows networking (via smb) is flawed at best. I have encountered a problem where clicking an alias for a particular network share repeatedly brings up an error stating that the location the alias is referring to is not valid. After trying repeatedly in some cases the share eventually mounts but there's no pattern to it whatsoever. The connection is fine since i have no problems accessing my mac from the windows machine at the same time. Anybody having this problem? Any solutions?

This had happened to me and my friend's network too. Used Command+K and browse my own network, nothing in the beginning and 15 minutes later, my other computers show up without intervention. It seems there is a sequence for smb to search for other computers but it is unpredictable as you said.

Let's put all the browsing/file sharing problems in one thread: http://forums.macnn.com/showthread.p...hreadid=184825
