This is probably a silly question but ...

My dad has an eMac but is still on a dial-up connection. As you can imagine, any software updates (iTunes, Quicktime, 10.2.8) take forever to download. Can I download the stand alone updates from Apple's site over my broadband connection, burn the files to a CD, and them install them on his machine? I can't imagine why that wouldn't work but wanted to check with you all first.

Yeah, that'll work.

Make sure you get the right ones though. For example, when updating the operating system, sometimes there are different updaters depending which version you're updating from.

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.
