Im trying to install Panther on my iMac G3 400. Before I can install it says I need to update my firmware, but I can't find it on Apple's site, nor does it show up in my Software Update. Any suggestions? Thanks.

From Apple's page on upgrading from OS 9 to OS X:

You may need to update your computer’s firmware before installing Mac OS X. Firmware updates are additional software updates that address issues with specific Macintosh computers. Look in the Firmware Updates folder located in the Utilities folder on your Mac OS X CD to see if a firmware update was included for your Mac.

Look in the Firmware Updates folder located in the Utilities folder on your Mac OS X CD...
Unfortunately, there is no "Firmware Updates" folder in the Utilities folder of the 10.3 install disk.

Additionally, in the Panther Installation and Setup Guide, they say to go to:
http://asu.info.apple.com
for Firmware updates.

...which leads to:

After much searching, the iMac firmware update can be found at:
