I am loving the ability to customize keyboard shortcuts for any application through the use of the keyboard pref. pane.

One question though: is it possible to customize a shortcut when to get to the command you have to go through another command in the menu with the triangle thing? Wow, that is tougher to explain than I thought. For instance, in Safari, how would you customize the find command when to get to it you go to edit > find > then the different options.

Any help appreciated.

It works for me if I just enter the name of the final menu item, ignoring the fact that it's in a submenu (e.g., "Find Again"). However, I can't get it to work on any items that end in "...".

Oh, I've got it now. You have to enter the ellipsis ("...") as a special character. You can use option-; or enter it with the Character Palette (Edit / Special Characters...).

Aren't some of Apple's shortcuts so strange? It's always nice when Apple allows a little more customization.

I tried to do one for the "Open URL" service (since for some bizarre reason 10.3 changed command-shift-L to be "Search with Google") and it doesn't work.

Can you not make a shortcut for a service, or is this some funkiness dealing with the hierarchical menu?
