I would like to install panther on my partitioned harddrive- the 15gb partition contains the os and all the apps, home, etc and the second partition has all the work folders, pictures, mp3's on- can I just format the first 15gb partition, and leave the second untouched? Woould be bloody handy If I could!

Just choose that partition and chose "Erase Disk". There is no need to reformat.

Of course. During setup, it will ask you to select which partition to install the OS to, and then give you options on what you want to do with that partition...format, archive and install. The others will be untouched
