As I wait for Panther and wonder whether I should archive & install, vs doing a clean install, etc, I notice the only oddness I see w/my current 10.2.6 is sometimes in Safari, when items in menu bar (File, Bookmarks, etc) will not "stay clicked", that is, mouse button will have to be held down to see or select from the drop-down menus.

Is that symptom enough to warrant Not just doing archive & install-ing to 10.3?

I've had the problem appear a few times, I repaired perms just a few days before this latest instance. Repairing perms again (just now) did not fix this after quitting then re-opening Safari, but then re-starting the mac did fix it.
DP1.25, no haxies installed.

I really don't think your OS install is what caused this issue, don't know. Seems to me it's more of an issue with Safari alone. Think I would have just reinstalled Safari since it's a single downloadable piece of software and you don't have to go looking for it in the OS installer. Not sure if the newest Safari that came with Panther is a lone installer yet but you have Panther coming so shouldn't be an issue anyway.
