I remember reading/hearing somewhere (WWDC 2003 video?) that Sherlock in Panther would list any 3rd party Sherlock channels that were registered in DMoz.

The Docs seem to say the same thing:

"Sherlock for Mac OS X "Panther" has several new features that make it easier to work with channels and find information on the Internet.

Access to more channels

Sherlock now gives you access to channels provided by third-party companies and individuals. Click Channels in the toolbar and select the Other Channels collection to see what channels are available."

However I don't have a "Other Channels" collection.

Does anyone else?

Yep, I got it first time I was connected to the Internet and opened up Sherlock....

Maybe a UK issue?

channels vary by country or region. not being in the UK, i don't have UK shopping in my list. most likely, you do have a limited "other channels" list, though one limited only to shopping.

Hmmm - most queer.

Could someone post their com.apple.sherlock.plist or email me the file.

or alternatively have a look inside yours and see if there are more subscriptions that this:

Trashing mine did not seem to cure the problem.

Thanks.

Oh - I thought that I had the UK Shopping channels because I had already subscribed to them from Jaguar. (and copied my Sherlock prefs over.)

Does anyone else in the UK have the "Others Channels" subscription? I would have thought that since most of those channels in your screenshot are for "any" region they would show up in my sherlock as well.

No, UK Shopping is a collection of channels written by ME, and available to anyone using 10.2 or later. I think Apple are planning a UK version of "Other Channels", as they asked me for details of my channels for inclusion, but perhaps they haven't set it up yet. I can't test this because MY PANTHER HASN'T ARRIVED YET

Barney.
