Under Jaguar, I had sendmail and WU-IMAP working first-time on the Mac OS X client, enabling me to bring our email services in house (at home!) bypassing our slow ISP's systems. Combined with dynamic IP addressing provided by DynDNS, it worked flawlessly.

Now, under Panther, I've got postfix sending email just fine, but I cant get WU-IMAP or iPopper working on Panther client? I compiled WU-IMAP using the instructions at orielly.com <http://www.macdevcenter.com/pub/a/ma...er.html?page=4>. It can telnet to the IMAP and POP servers just fine, but it doesn't accept the password to retrieve my email (either via SSL, or without).

I've also tried recompiling and set up as given by MacFora <http://www.macfora.com/forums/index....=8291&amp;st=0>. But it still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

I had a bear of a time getting my existing UW-IMAP install to work under 10.3 as well. I ended up recompiling, and found that I needed to use MD5 passwords. Read the MD5.txt in the doc folder of the imap source. It explains how to set up the password file. It works for me...
