My company uses SSL encryption for POP email uses. In 10.2 I had no problem downloading email from the company email server.

In 10.3, Mail.app acts as if there is no unread email, even though by looking at the server using a web (slow) interface, I can see there are many unread emails.

I did not change any settings, I just installed 10.3 over 10.2

I configured Mail on a brand new powerbook as a test, and the same problem occurred, leaving me to suspect it is with Mail.app in general and not the upgrade process

Mail.app 10.3 does successfully download non SSL emails

I have an older computer still running 10.2.8 and with it's 10.2 Mail.app, I can see and download unread emails still --- no it is a 10.3 vs. 10.2 issue

any suggestions appreciated

I'm having a somewhat similar problem. Apple support and I have been through all the suggested fixes and nothing has worked yet. It's now been escalated to Engineering.

I'm missing --some-- emails. Not going to Junk folder... not showing up anywhere at all within Mail. I can go to web interface for mail server (WebMail for Earthlink/Mindspring) and they're there. I can go to Entourage and they're there. It's anywhere from about 2 to 5 per day.

We've trashed everything, rebuilt from ground zero and it still happens.

It's really disheartening. I really don't want to go back to Entourage, but if this doesn't get resolved, I'll have no choice.

Thanks for going to the trouble to hash it over with Apple support - I think that's the best way to make SURE they know how bad a problem is -- and put the time/energy into the next revision.

Kudos to you!
