i receive a daily zipped file in mail.app. for some reason now (after upgrading) to panther, i cannot save this file and open it (unzip) to the desktop or anywhere. it gives me an error.

i remember reading something about how panther can zip files. does this have something to do with me now being able to unzip this file.

note: i cannot save the file, i cannot open it from mail, i cannot do anything with it without getting an error.

any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem !!! and found out why...

Whenever there is a german umlaut character in one of the file names inside the ZIP - there is a error generated. Maybe there are other characters causing the problem.

My only solution to this is to use Entourage for that very mail. Bummer right ?

okay, thanks! i thought i was going crazy. i have resorted to using netscape mail to retrieve that message from my imap server, but.... as you know, it is a little clunky and forces me to open the browser too ...

a lot to go through just for a single message per day. i do hope apple is listening.
