Anyone know how to get channels to show up in the new Sherlock? When I bring it up I get no channels.

Anyone know how to use this new version?

With active Internet connection, just click on "Other Channels" and wait until it updates itself. However, I am still searching on how to bring back the "original" sets of channels.

Where is "Other Channels?" I see it not.

This is bizarre. What's the deal- doesn't a certain set of channels come loaded by default?

Same thing happened to me.

1)Open Sherlock
2)Click on Sherlock help
3)Exit Sherlock
4)In Sherlock help, click Solving Problems, then Restoring the Other Channels Collection
5)Click on the link that it provides.

It will open sherlock and the channels should be there.

Same deal here. I have actually tried and reboot to a fresh copy of Panther (no other softwares installed) and noticed that the default channels are preset out of the box. Somehow, after installing other softwares, the channels have dissapeared off the toolbar. Aparently a bug. Also if you click on the "term of use" link at the bottom of sherlock, the link is dead and sherlock would stop responding. This link works in my fresh-Panther backup.

Found out what causing it. If you have Norton installed, it could be the caused. I have Norton Internet Security 3.0 installed, Symanted is working to solve another issue with Fast Swtiching problem and Privacy Control update for Panther.

I deleted NIS3.0 and Eureka!!! all the dissapeared channels returned back in Sherlock. It seems Symantec got another issue at their hand! This bug should be reported.

This is not the problem for me -- no Norton on my machine. There must be several causes, although perhaps with the same root issue.

Would anybody be so kind as to send me the default channels, if such is possible? I'm not going to reinstall just for Sherlock...

Or are the channels accessible on the install disk via Pacifist?

Thanks.

I found that deleting the Sherlock folder in ~/Library/Preferences and com.apple.sherlock.plist worked for me.

Sorry, ladies & gentlemen. I discovered I got those Other Channel from the link displayed from Help. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks to Diggory Laycock, deleting ~/Library/Preferences and com.apple.sherlock.plist indeed bring back the original Apple Channels and others. Great! Thanks again.
