Hi all,

I've got PAnther server, and the 5-client Panther client software, but at the moment I'venot got an extra MAc to run the server software. Do you think it's possible to run Server as a day-to-day OS?

I'm mostly running programs like Photoshop, dreamweave, combustion, and various others, but I'm really wanting to use the server GUI stuff now without having to wait for another machine cause of the server I want to run off my machine.

Couple of points:

Is OS X server built with certain performance features geared towards being a server ( such as under-the-hood stuff being optimised for server functions rathe than application based like the client one?

Would I notice a major performance hit when running graphics apps, and if so, is there a way to change this to act like the client one.

All help appreciated.
Rockstar Games - better than reality.

It'll run just fine. I've used 10.2 server as a desktop OS for a while and it work great.

I think it's ok. (I'll do the same for testin purpose) - Nevertheless, some apps might not run - as for example the no-plus-ultra Firewall FirewalkX, damn I really miss the "create rule from event" feature.
