How does one go abou removing a folder from the desktop background side panel in that system pref?

the folders in the top section (like "abstract" "nature" etc) are all located in /library/desktop pictures - i suppose removing them from there would get rid of them. the ones in the second section are iphoto albums - i have not found a way to make these not show in there yet, although i will also admit i have not looked that hard yet either....
